Securities Board of Nepal issues Specialized Investment Fund Regulation, 2075 (2019). The Regulation is issued just before the Investment Summit to be held by Government of Nepal and aimed at bridging the capital needs of the start-ups.

The key features of the Regulations are:

  • Covers three key funds, viz. Private Equity Fund, Venture Capital Fund, and Hedge Fund
  • Organized institutions with minimum NRs. 20 million can operate such funds.
  • Existing funds should be registered with SEBON within 6 months of the effectiveness of the Regulation
  • Minimum Fund size of the Fund should be NRs. 150 Million
